November was a good month for the college bond improvements at Rock Creek. After much heavy lifting by Barbara Linn, Bond Project Manager for Rock Creek, Clean Water Services and Washington County finally approved the construction permits and stormwater mater plan and vegetated corridor enhancement master plan.
“It took a team effort including opsis, Winterbrook Planning, MGH Associates and Pacific Habitat Services. Being the first project to be reviewed under the new North Bethany Plan added time to our process,” said Linn.
Under this 2008 bond measure, the building is undergoing a major facelift on its east side. Construction crews have already demolished the east entrance and two circular classrooms that fronted the building. Now, with permits in hand, crews are set to start building the 28,000 square foot addition that will showcase a glass exterior envelope designed to capture light and frame a dramatically improved campus quad. The building addition is expected to be completed in early 2014.
