On Monday, Dec. 17, construction will begin on Cascade Campus’ new underground parking facility, the first to be built at any community college campus in the state of Oregon. To mark this momentous occasion, Cascade Campus is hosting a groundbreaking ceremony and reception at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 11.
A tent will be erected for the occasion on the grass between North Albina and Mississippi Avenues (on the walkway between MAHB and PSEB). There will be a brief ceremony and groundbreaking featuring remarks from PCC dignitaries — including PCC President Preston Pulliams, PCC Board Chair Denise Frisbee, Board Member Kali Thorne Ladd, Cascade ASPCC President Esther Forbyn, and Cascade Campus President Algie Gatewood — at 2 p.m. After the ceremony, the campus will host a reception and refreshments in the Campus Cafeteria starting at about 2:45 p.m. The reception will afford a chance to view illustrations of the new parking facility — as well as the two new buildings that will sit atop it — and to ask questions of our design and construction teams.
