Taking in the new views (and buildings) at Cascade Campus

This summer Hoffman construction crews finished pouring and polishing all three concrete floors in the new academic building. They are now ready to begin exterior framing and mechanical and electrical work.

The new academic building is going up fast - scheduled open for class in fall 2014.

Cascade Campus’ new academic building is going up fast – scheduled to open for classes next fall (2014).

Construction on the new student center – just across the new campus plaza along N. Albina Avenue –  is following work on the academic building by about three months.  Crews have almost finished installing the metal decking, including the metal beam that campus and community members signed at the National Night Out event in early August.  The signed beam has been installed on the top floor facing Albina Avenue and can be seen from the sidewalk. Later this month, crews will pour the concrete floors.

Pacificmark, an MWESB firm, is doing the interior work for the student center, as a sub contractor for Hoffman.

The underground parking garage is nearly complete.  Hoffman crews finished the concrete walls in the garage and the ramp leading down to it this summer and are now working on mechanical and electrical rough-in and the stairwells leading to the new academic building and student center.  Contractors finished painting the garage ceiling white and will install interior wayfinding signage later this fall.

The steel beam signed at the National Night Out event on August 8, hosted at Cascade Campus, is now installed on the top floor of the new student center.
